Maximus Blackbourne is a technical founder and systems architect with over 20 years of experience designing and operating complex cloud, security, and distributed systems.
His background spans defense, aerospace, fintech, and higher education, including serving as Director of Cloud Architecture for a major global bank.
Throughout his career, Maximus has worked inside large-scale, high-risk environments where reliability, security, and operational clarity are non-negotiable. That firsthand exposure to the limitations of legacy tooling shaped his approach to building VisOS.
Rather than layering AI onto existing frameworks, Maximus built VisOS from first principles as an AI-native system — designed to reason about infrastructure state, change, and impact in real time. His work reflects a deep commitment to building purpose-built platforms that are scalable, adaptive, and grounded in real operational needs.
As CTO, Maximus leads product and platform architecture with a focus on correctness, explainability, and long-term defensibility.
